What is an EHCP and why might my child need one?
An Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) Should be a comprehensive plan that tells you everything about your child's Special Educational Needs.
It should list specific provisions that will be used to help your child reach agreed outcomes.

You would normally apply for an EHCP Assessment if your child may have special educational needs and may need specialist provision to be made. If they find education more challenging than their peers.

You will normally need to show that your child's needs cannot be met through the current targeted interventions in their education setting.
This process sounds simple, but in truth it requires a lot of time, persistence and paperwork, and that's if it all goes smoothly!
